Feed your spirit, don’t starve your body

I knew there were a lot of people who understood that dieting was not the answer to shedding excess body fat and that restricting calories created — rather than cured — an unhealthy relationship with food. I was nonetheless overwhelmed by the positive responses to my NeuroSlimming audiobook and for that I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has taken the time to send me a message or write a review. I’m thrilled that people are finally making peace with their body and adopting an attitude of nourishment, not punishment.

Here are a few comments that listeners have allowed me to share:

NeuroSlimming is the answer I’ve been looking for. It explains why all my past attempts at weight loss have only brought short term results. I now allow my body to guide my food choices and I’ve never been healthier or happier.’

‘Thank you for helping me overcome 20 years of emotional eating!! NeuroSlimming has taught me how to feelmy feelings rather than feed my feelings. It’s so liberating and empowering!’

‘I never realised that insomnia and chronic stress were driving my body to store fat even if I didn’t overeat. It was a lightbulb moment. For me, food isn’t the problem — it’s the poor sleep and lack of boundary setting. Thank you for shining a light on the real issues and showing me how to overcome them.’

I also had a conversation about the brain and body fat connection with John Manning on ABC Radio Tropical North. You can click here to listen.

When I heard the interview on the recording, I noticed that I mistakenly said ‘women who drink more than 10 alcoholic drinks a day have a much higher risk of breast cancer than women who drink less. What I meant to say was: 10 standard drinks per week (not day!) raise the risk of not only breast cancer but also cancers of the head, neck, oesophagus, colon, rectum and liver. Although I self-corrected later in the conversation, I thought I’d reiterate the point here, just in case optimistic readers were in any doubt!

Meanwhile, my NeuroSlimming audiobook is available on all your favourite audiobook platforms including the following. It will show you how to feed your spirit, not starve your body.
